LIBERTY UNIVERSITY SOFTBALL CAMPS

Summer Pitching & Catching Camp

9:00am - 4:00pm

August 10-11

$350

The purpose of this camp is to provide instruction and feedback on the basic fundamentals needed for every pitcher and catcher at every level of the game. We will be introducing video analysis for both pitchers and catchers as a teaching aid during camp. The pitching portion of camp will provide lectures on the basics of each pitch as well as provide drills and demonstrations by the Liberty Softball pitching staff.  Our goal is for each camper to leave camp with new drills to use at home and valuable feedback to help in her development. The catching portion of camp will provide lectures on the 3 basic skill sets of catching: Receiving, Blocking/Picking, and Throwing, and how these skill sets "save runs".  We will also teach catchers the importance of cuts/relays, short game, and communication.  Our goal is to teach catchers softball IQ and provide feedback on where she can improve most.

Open to All Ages

Summer Elite Camp

9:00am - 4:00pm

August 15-16

$350

We have rescheduled this 2 day summer camp. This camp provides more individualized instruction and feedback with a focus on the importance of basic fundamentals and improving overall performance defensively and offensively. This is a slower paced camp that allows for more time centered around educating campers on “softball IQ”.

Day 1 will focus on drill exposure for catchers, infielders, and outfielders. This camp does not provide pitching instruction outside of feedback during live games.

Day 2 will feature players being placed on teams, according to age group, and competing in live games. This format provides campers with an opportunity to consult coaches on during live situations on things such as: pitch location, defensive positioning, pitch selection while hitting, mental game, etc. This camp will feature a campus tour.

2020 Fall Prospect Camp

Possibly NOv 7

9:00am - 4:00pm

$225

This camp will focus on live rep’s, situations, and softball IQ. This will be a fast-paced environment where our goal is to replicate the pace and pressure of a Division I practice. It will also include a performance evaluation where campers will receive feedback on hitting metrics, defensive measurements, and speed. All metrics will be shared with the athlete and instructors will explain (in a classroom session) how we can use data to identify areas of skill that need improvement and areas of strength. The goal is to provide parents, coaches, and campers with more insight into the skill set needed to perform at the highest level.
